I catch your point and I commend you for using humor to lighten your load
yet after years of smaking into the wall of ignorance that people who take
thier vision for granted has left me (and a larg percentage of the blind
community) a little touchy when it comes to depricating humor.
Prior to my vision loss I thought the kind old geezer who narrowly missed
one calamity after another was funny too. Then I realized it was a sighted
individual who came up with that character.
Anytime ignorance is allowed to flourish it just helps to maintain that wall
of ignorance and perpetuate the stereotypes which we in the blind community
battle on a daily basis.
I'm not pissed that you have a sense of humor. I enjoy a warm heart and a
friendly smile. I'm just hoping to educate you on one of the issues folks in
this new life you are finding yourself in has a concern about.
