Mike gave you good advice, especially calling your local office, or the
800 number for SS.
Two bits of additional information:
her full retirement age will be 65 plus some months.
BUT medicare must be applied for at age 65, so don't lose out on that.
She can get medicare on your account; part A for no premium and part B
for a monthly premium, which if she is not collecting SS money benefits
you will have to pay for.
