An anonymous bidder has raised the stakes in what appears to be a three-way struggle for ownership of a historic lighthouse off the coast of Cape Elizabeth.
Since the City of Sanibel officially took possession of the historic lighthouse back on April 21, many residents have wondered what it planned to do with the nearly 126-year-old landmark.
The Light Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2001 by New England Patriot Matt Light, is gearing up for its annual signature fundraising event. The 2010 Matt Light Celebrity Shoot-Out will be held this September 14th, at the world-class Addieville East Farm in Mapleville, Rhode Island.

As part of its second annual Lighthouse Project, BB&T Bank in Ceredo teamed up with the Good Samaritan Food Bank in Ceredo to provide diapers and infant supplies. Employees from the bank volunteered their time Aug. 26 to purchase and deliver the items to the food bank. The items were much appreciated, as those items are often not covered by public assistance, according to the food bank.
